Fed up with the risable drip that my Hydrabak valve offers I was considering getting a new C.bak bladder. However the bladders cost so much I may as well go the whole hog and get a new bag too. Has anyone on here used the lumber bladder based packs such as the Octanes? Primary issue is that it won't work with my aged HAWG pack but is the lower position of the weight much of an advantage?

Hmmm. My last venture into plumbing was too much hassle what with shutting off the mains for an afternoon.

The Octanes use the same bladder as all the "backpack" camelbacks, so no compatibility issues there... I've also got one of the "bum-pack" camelbaks. That's got a very different shaped bladder - more like a small rugby ball bladder, but I'm sure it could fit my lobo/octane packs on it's side
