Having seen some of the previous posts I know I am going to get grief for this but...I am seriously considering a Jones space frame to replace my hard tail and SS.
Obviously they are not cheap and a little different, particularly for me being a 29er.
Given the cost I would really like to try one first before committing £4k+ to one (Unless anyone has a s/h SS frame set for sale)
Are there any people of an altruistic nature and out there who would be willing to meet up with me somewhere convenient and preferably singletracky (is that a word!) and indulge me in a test ride of their pride and joy?
I am happy to reciprocate with a ride on any of my current bikes (Ti456, Merlin Works 4.0, both set up for Rohloff) Condor Classico Roadie)
I am in the Midlands, but would be willing to travel
you can contact me on phil.pryorATblue-ngDOTcom

Try an on-one Ti 29er. All that compliant stuff - I did that on that one.
and MUCH cheaper! I get the compliance bit Brant the Ti456 does an excellent job, is the 29er any different? I think I still have to find out, even if my wife thinks they are fugly.
What do you think of the design...as you can tell from recent posts I am somewhat undecided about where to go with my next bike...I keep coming back to this 29er thing!!
is the 29er any different?
The Ti456 was designed to be stiff laterally, more than vertically compliant.
The Ti 29er has a flattened top tube and curved seat tube which I think make a difference.
I can see that, the only other downside is, I likes 'brushed' Ti, I had one of the last brushed 456's.
I am also slightly challenged in the inside leg department at 31", so some 29ers are a no go, I like a it of space under there you know...
Any Jones owners out there?
yea an X Jones owner.....sold mine. Might get the full rigid space frame in the future, but I would wait till the £ recovers against the $. Or pick up a s/h frame from the States. The Yanks are selling their Jones's on STW all the time now! 🙂
I'll keep my eyes peeled for the s/h option 😀
