Anyone ever taken the ballast to bits. I'm trying to find out what bulbs they use. All I know so far is that they're made by Welch Allyn and they're part of the Solarc range. Are these the ones perhaps?

personnally when mine dies I'll be more interested in trying to stuff an LED in there.

You could try searching the Lupine forum but they have a habit of deleting anything useful or uncomplementary about their products.

I've just answered my own question, M10P001 is the product number I was looking for. After a quick googling it turns out Zyro is the cheapest place after all. Looks like there's no way round £100 for a new blub when mine pops it.
z1ppy - can you use the Edison battery with the LED stuff?

why not? Just a matter of regulating the power I would image (I am not an lighting expert in aanyway...)

Though 5mudge replaced my Lupine battery last year for just over 1/2 the cost of a offical lupine one.
