Myself and mate from work have been riding the chilterns for a good few years now and have some pretty good routes to date. On one of our lops we always seem to pass riders going the opposite way, come to think of it we very rarely come across anyone riding the same way as us ( not a bad thing ). So just a bit curious really as to what everyones loops are and if you fancy sharing some gpx files? I've seen a fair part of the Chilterns but also know there is still loads to more out there. Look forward to seeing and sharing some trails.

I've got a few loops as GPX. Where are you based? I'm south, on the Thames Near Pangbourne, so we tend to ride the area from here up to the M40. Don't tend to get much further above than that, though i have ridden up that way a few times- If i'm going to get in the car and go up there it's usually for a trip to Aston Hill!

You are much more likely to see people riding in the opposite direction than the same way of course, because they're cycling the same way (as you'd have to catch them).

Anyway, a fair few of the trails can be ridden in either direction tbh, as nothing is too hilly or technical.

Where abouts are you?

I've got some fun Wendover Woods and Coombe Hill area rides - cheeky bits mainly with some bridleways etc. Always willing to ride and share the wealth! Don't do gpx though...

I'm based in Banbury. We have some loops from Princes Risborough to Wendover and back over Combe hill also from near by Stockenchurch covering both sides of the M40. I've done most trails in both directions and they do tend to work one way better than the other even though they're not that technical. Just curious to see what everyone else is riding.

Would be interested in some of your gpx files johnny as we get as far down as Stoner/ Turville way and looking to extend loop from there. Email in profile. Cheers

Sure- will do! From what I have ridden, and I've ridden most of the Chilterns, but in the northern part, I don't know what rides best with what, loops, etc. The Turville/Stonor/Watlington area has some great riding, probably the best part of the hills.

The GPX stuff I have is good, but if you'd like to go for a ride sometime, there are many possibilities...!

Recovering from a knee op from last Thursday but when I've got the all clear to ride off road again I'll give you a shout. Always easier to ride it first hand rather than following gpx. Thanks mate.
