Is anyone doing this next Sunday? Fortunately, I have two working bikes to choose from (a rarity). Unfortunately, one is a downhill bike, so I'll be singlespeeding away.

Normally run 32/16, but there seems to be a fair bit of road over the course. Thinking about chucking a 34 on the front... but then the climbs look a bit stiff. Hmm... maybe I'll see if I can rescue the geared bike...

Did it in 2005. If it's the same route (Ton can confirm) it starts in Sowerby and follows BWs dropping into Mytholmroyd. Onto Hebden Bridge and up Crimsworth Dean, Pecket Well, Midgeley Moor, Luddenden and finishing with a killer hill back to Sowerby. I think we signed in about 8.30 for a 9am start. Oh! about 24 miles.

Did it last year, quite a stiff ride, particularly that last tarmac climb. Was a bit muddy after Pecket Well last year and I think the descent down the other side surprised a few people (same descent as we did last Sunday). Digging at Gisburn tomorrow (haven't been up there for about six weeks) so I'm giving it a miss this year.

From memory it was 26 miles, a tad under 4000ft of climbing. I did it in 3.5 hrs and was mid pack.
