so above Gaddings Dam going in a staright line and over the slabs pathway at the top you can turn right and head towards the 'White House' (signposted, or turn left and head in the direction of the pike... (but theres another signpost there for 'White Holme'....now there are alot of new fences up there now and brand new gates done in the last few months /weeks.. where does the path that leads to 'white Holme' come out at.....i know theres a res somewhere down there but ive never been that way before....so does that path just go to the res or can i get into Hebden somehow if i follow this path ?
Basically if you're stood with the pike behind you looking at where the new fencing starts you can go left through it and all the new gates to end up on the access road that links back up to the main road down Cragg Vale or turn right and go around the res the other way. On this track there's the option to take a right fork later and head towards the main road at Blackstone Edge where the Whitehouse pub is or take the left at the fork and end up on the same access road the other way would take you.
I'm not trying to be confusing I'm just good at it..
Best way into Hebden from there is to ride past the pike, keeping the main road from Littleborough to Hebden via Tod in the valley on your left.
Just don't go tomorrow. You'll be swimming by the sound of it..

lol yeah i was up there at 4pm today not a soul insite... i came from walsden Bottomly up the cobbles pathwayway to Gaddings- over rocky pathway and headed towrds the pike area... i was too chicken to see where the whitehome pathway went to...bit lonely on me own...lol my son normally comes with me but he was busy looking at cars today...so wa on me own..

Mine's a 2011 Five. My mates riding a Kona Stuff frame with a lot of similar bits to mine on. His wheels are a lil brighter mind you.
yeah i thort it was a five hahahaha we wud be like twins then ! fives are ace ... just had a look on google maps and it showed a path leading from whitehole res to Blackstone edge, so yeah that wud be ok too...i go Blackstone edge way regular too. so im guessing from the whiteholme res its like a circular ride over to Blackstone edge,,,, anyway yeah i saw the few long gates in the distance at that whiteholme signpost, and i thort 'god more gates' (lol) there are far too many gates on out moorlands isnt there..lol
There are now. They've spent some cash up there. It's a quality job. If it's not bone dry going that way you can sink in places.
yeah the peat up there can be boggy in many places...a case of smelly blackfoot soemtimes...tis great tho calderdale...theres no better place for riding..lol 😉
