is it just rubbish? it does not seem able to seal even the smallest hole..
is fluid with lumps in like stan's better ?
Used it for a couple of years where I used to work & it was ok but nothing more. Now where I am now we use Stans & it is a better product IMO, does seem to seal a bit quicker.
the bright blue fenwicks stuff seems to work ok and lasts for 3 years. Easier to apply than notubes as it's a bit thicker and can be smeared around the tyre bead to get it to seal perfectly first time.
I know someone that tried the cafelatex and he hated it; said it wouldn't seal a hole of any size. LBS told him to add glitter to it. I think that was to make it look like unicorn spunk or something...
I've always used Stan's sealant.
Tried it, didn't think much of it, back to Stan's
I'm using it now, so far its OK but got Stans in a few other bikes so we'll see as time goes on
might give stan's a go..
do the fluids like fenwick have lumps/etc it them?
Hated Fenwick's. Fine on some tyres like Bonty Mud-X but on Schwalbe it just oozes goo out of the sidewalls and the tyre goes flat. You also get covered in blue dye if you have to remove a tyre. It does, however, seem to mix with Stans fluid so I just poured Stans in on top to seal the sidewalls better. Means I get the sealing of Stans for small holes, but also the bigger bits out of the Fenwicks - but I only did this as I had some left over in the tyre and couldn't be bothered cleaning it out, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Stans for me every time.
I've just fitted a tyre with it and wasn't too impressed by how much effort it seemed to need to seal small holes, so I'm gonna swap to some Stan's.
If anyone's thinking the same I just bought a pint of stan's sealant from Merlin for about £11.50, which seemed like a pretty decent price.
I've had no issues with cafe latex, of course I'll end up with a flat now I've said that.
i wasn't impressed that a thorn hole in the front sprayed my leg with caffe latex so not only did i get a flat, but also i had tried latex on my leg hair which was a bugger to get off
You get that with Stans' as well. Real joy when it happens in front of a tubeless sceptic - you try selling the system then. Wait until you get a hole and it sprays a bike that's covered with dry mud.
