Hi i have a simple problem, should i stay with my old and trusty 29er (Cube) or swap it out for a new 27,5 plus bike like Nukeproof Scout or Sonder Transmitter. I am just over 6´1 and a bit on the heavy side, will the slack 27,5 just let me feel everything on the trail or is it ok for a long day in the saddle. Price range up to 1500 pounds.
Why only a 27.5 plus!? Why not the new gen long slacker 29ers?
Not riden a plus bike but I have to say the few new 29ers I've riden have been great bikes culminating with a Shan gt which for me literally rides like a 26inch wheeled hardtail very nimble through the single track but quicker on the A2B stuff very impressed.
Why not something like a Giant XTC Advanced and then you can do both (with an extra wheelset).
Assuming your cube is their normal steep and xc orientated bike I'd make sure you have a test of any potential next bike as something like the transmitter is going to feel a lot different. Think sonder will pick you a bike for a week.
Demo one and see if you like it. I tried a Solaris in 29and 275 plus back to back (took Sam at Cotic just a minute to swap the wheels over) and I thought the plus was a right chuckle 🙂 A Cotic is going to be outside your budget or I would have suggested one and with 2 pairs of wheels you have best of both worlds.
