Hi Guys,
long time reader, very rare contributor to the forum but hoping someone here might be able to help. In an attempt to alienate both the friends I walk with and the friends I mountain bike with I bought a Koga Bergmonch on a whim. It has an old but apparently on trend linkage suspension fork and odd sized wheels (20inch front, 16inch rear anyone?). I have begun trying to get it back into a state where it can be ridden despite the reviews giving it death trap status.
to the point, there are two split flanged bushings in the front suspension linkage where it separates to fold into backpack form. One is missing, the other fell out and got mangled. I cannot find replacement bushings despite many google searches, and emails to KOGA have resulted in no help in providing of spares or assistance in finding suppliers. the bushings appear to have a 14mm internal diameter but 15mm external diameter. I can only find 14mm x 16mm. Does anyone know where i might be able to get hold of this size of bushing before I go down the route of getting someone to ream the linkage? any help appreciated.
BETD might be able to make something for you, especially if you still have one to model, even if it is mangled. If it were me, I'd be getting the oversize bush altered to fit the fork rather than taking metal out of the fork. I know it's only a mm and is probably built with a decent safety margin, but that'd be my approach.
Cool looking machine though, never seen one of those before.
Thanks for the replies, I will try BETD see if they can help.
And yep, that’s the one. The pictures are a slightly earlier version I think, the adult balance bike I have has flat bars rather than BMX type bars. It was a niche bike to say the least, but at the bargain price of £1500 ten or so years ago, I can’t understand why it didn’t sell! 🤔
