Burly for a grrrravel bike, anyway. Picked up a couple of Easton Arc 27 rims in the crc sale. Wanted something wider than the stans alpha set I've got at the moment for when I've got bigger tyres on. They're overkill, but they were also cheap, and the Arc 24 was only available in 650B.

I've got some novatec 771/772 hubs on the way, so I'm now onto spokes, and I'm thinking Revs, to offset the weight of the rims a bit. There'll 32 of them, rather than 24/28 on the stans wheelset, so there's some strength and redundancy back, and the rim's hardly a featherweight thing that needs all the support it can get.

All sound fair? I know they'll be a bit more of a pain to build, but I'm happy enough with that. And I know the weight advantage is minimal, but it'll be one less thing to regret on up long climbs.

It'll work but I wouldn't bother for the 100gm odd saved.

Sounds pretty sensible to me!

Revs aren't that flimsy are they ?

Only possible thing I could imagine is if you were using rim brakes and a ded stiff rim with really thin spokes - IMO there's increased scope for brake rub in that situation. Even then, might depend a lot on how heavy you are
