I've done a quick search but can't find anything recent.

Does anyone have any recommendations for budget cycle helmets, i.e. in the region of 50? My current one is about 8 years old, comes loose easily and to be honest is a bit smelly.

I saw the helmets in Decathlon on Saturday, which looked OK and fitted nicely. I guess my main concern is that they are cheaper than bibs. Has anyone got one of these?

Thanks
Matt

Spesh do a brilliant cheapo, the Align. Thirty quid or so, IIRC.

Friend bought one on a road trip having left his proper helmet at home. Was impressive for the money.

One that fits is about right TBH, supposedly they all so the same job, the expense come from more vents/less weight, no better protection (though some have a better coverage).
I tend to pay more as I want one I like the look of & fits right (neither tend to come cheap), but then I will keep my helmet for at least 4 years (crash dependant).

I'm very impressed with my Prowell Helmet that I bought the other week.

Currently using the X9, which can be picked up surprising cheaply on Amazon

Keep an eye out for the next round of Aldi/Lidl offers? Fashion wise they may not be top of the pile but as far as protection go they'll be as good as anything the bigger brands have to offer.
