Got a bit of a wobble in the rear, it's been straightened out as good as it's going to get.

I've noticed the disc brake fluttering as the wheel rotates - the brake bites-releases-bites on a cycle.

I can't see anything significant in the disc rotor - is the wheel likely to cause flutter like this?

I very much doubt it

I'm temped to say NO outright but the regularity with which I'm wrong I'd astonishing these days. 😉

Only if something else is buggered. Like- bad bearings, loose axle, loading from wobbly wheel could wobble the hub. But very unlikely imo

Bearings are fairly fresh. Must be the rotor, I'll get hold of a new one and see if it fixes it.

Cheers,

Do you know the rotor-dial-meter-brake-adaptor trick? Works easiest with IS mounts...

Goes like this. Unbolt caliper and move to one side, unbolt one adaptor bolt (usually the back one), slightly loosen other one, spin the adaptor around til the other bolt hole is over the face of the rotor (in a bit with as much metal as possible, tighten it back up Now thread the other adaptor bolt back through- you now have a finely adjustable "feeler" for detecting out of true rotors, far better than the naked eye.

With postmount you need a little more ingenuity with parts but it's still doable.
