Does anyone have any recomendations on the build please? Im looking to get the best from the frame and I'm thinking a lightish build to do that. ( also I have my bikes for more crazy stuff - a Jackal, a Foes 4x 2:1, 😀 but on the otherhand would want to hit a jump or drop on this bike too if the chance arose!). Brodie say 140mm fork. I'm 6ft and 185 lbs, probably not that smooth a rider!Anticipated use is trails, occasional trail centre, 1-3 hour blasts rather than all day epics.
Heeeeellllllp Meeeee!! Please.

XTR drivetrain and shifters.
Formula R1 brakes.
Rock Shox Revalation.
Thomson seatpost and stem.
Easton carbon bars.
Seat, whatever you're comfortable with, same with pedals.
Not sure on wheels, depends on budget.(feel funny writing that after the other parts I've listed :-)).

thanks D45, I will look at Revs. Budget for wheels is probably up to 500, i was thinking hope hubs with stans Flow rims, db spokes - but maybe that's ott. XTR might be too expensive for me, any suggestions for something else ? SLX perhaps?

How about:

XT groupset from europe (can't remember the shop) or Merlin.

Revs from Merlin or On One.

XT brakes from Rose.

Stans flows on Hopes from Merlin.

What do you run on your other bikes? If you like that, why not stick with it?

Failing that, if you're trying to keep the price down then why not go for Revs (RLT or RLT Ti), SLX drivetrain, Hope Hoops (ProII Evo on either Flows or Crests), those cheap 2012 XT brakes off Rose Bikes (there was a thread on here recently) and then whatever finishing kit you fancy.

Just done a build with rev RLT Ti, great fork (CRC cheapest I could find). Used an XT double from Rose with a single renthal chainring. Looks very nice indeed. Stans flows on pro 2's run tubeless (hope hoops from LBS.) Got some elixir CR mags from merlin, though some hope CNC'd brakes may look better on the brodie. Anyway reckon all those would go well on the Holeshot.

Rev RLT Ti fork, travel shortened to 130mm
1x10 XT groupset
36T front ring with chain device and 11-36 cassette
2012 XT brakes 180/160 rotors
Stans Flow rims on DT hubs... If you've got 500 quid to spend on hubs, don't piss about with Hope!
Easton Haven bars/stem/seatpost
2.25 Maxxis Crossmark rear tyre, 2.35 Maxxis minion front

That's how my mythical, non existent, Holeshot would be built anyway...

Whatever you build it with, MAKE SURE you post pics on here when you've finished building it! Holeshot Ti is the loveliest frame I've seen in years, we need more of them!

Thanks for the suggestions, I definately like the idea of Revs, I have a coil 454 pikes on a Chase which are lovely to ride and have been trouble free, why reduce to 130mm though? is it to do with stack height or the frame?
I mostly run SRAM X9 after reading all about it, but that was years ago so I will look for a deal on an XT Group for a change, plus it would be nice to match - being the bike tart that I am.
Carbon monkeylite bars sound good but the Haven ones look really good, 170g and stronger than the 2010 DH bar. Sadly my budget is £500 for the whole wheelset not just the hubs - otherwise I guess it would be CK all the way, the Pro2 evo hubs replace the old plain Pro2 I think and so far as I know most people still think they are decent for the money.

Im a constant bargain hunter when building up bikes, and it look like I used the same offers as many of the above posters. I built my evil up with

Flow pro 2 evo hoops
Xt drive train
SLX chain set
150 Rev rlt ti
Reverb
Elixir cr mags
Haven carbon bars + stem
Wellgo mg 1s

I already had the hoops, but everything else was had at pretty good discount except for the bars. Use the clearance / weekly offers.

Got the drive train from Merlin, with the extra 10 off shimano offer
CRs were 190 for the set from Merlin also.
Reverb from rose
Nics from on one etc.

Get some pics posted when you build it!

Personal preference. I'm of the opinion that you can have too much travel on the front of a hardtail, I also don't like bikes to be too tall or slack. The Holeshot Ti is designed for use with a fork between 120 and 150mm of travel. Me, I'd be inclined to run it near the lower end cos it's still a lot of travel, and I'd prefer the lower BB height and slightly steeper angles. I used to have a Cotic BFe, designed for use with a fork from 100-160mm of travel. I can confirm that for me, even a Pike at 140 felt a bit much to me and I preferred how the bike handled with the fork set to 120-125mm of travel.

My Holeshot is built up with the following:

New bits
DT Swiss XMM 140 Twinshot (from bike24.de for about £450 last year)
Stans's Flow on 2nd hand CK hubs (worked out around £330 with spokes/ tubeless bits)
Ragley Wiser pus-coloured carbon bars
Madison Flux saddle

Old bits
XTR shifters/mechs/pedals
Middleburn X-type cranks/rings
Hope BB/headset/Tech M4 brakes
Thomson stem/seatpost

It's not the lightest!

This frame is still top of my wish list. I've currently got an Mmmbop built up almost how I would build it... and I've learned a few things from riding that build.

The Revelation U-turn Teams I have are a good fork... but they feel a little flexy when hammered into things and when landing drops. I'd like something stiffer but 36's/Lyriks are a bunch more weight. Depends on your thoughts on the flexyness vs weight issue but the Rev is probably a reasonable compromise for all round riding. I have some 36 Floats which I will bung them on it at some point to see if the extra weight is worth it.

I went for 1 x 9 and am loving it for where I ride this bike - it works for me because the bike is light. I do miss the granny gear occasionaly but a bit more grunting and effort gets the same results. Secondhand XTR crankset = cheap & lush. Chainguide for the top only is required.

Reverb post is a must - and with no front mech shifter the reverb lever goes in it's place.

Wheels - same as my other bike so I can swap them - Ubiquitous Hope/Flow with Rubber Queens (2.2 on hardtail, 2.4 on big bike).

Brakes - Formula RX (TH1 on big bike - both 160/180 as it's all I need).

Stem/Bar - 50mm stem with Sunline 745 bars - shape I like, and same as big bike.

So... what I did is set it up as close to my big bike as possible so bits can be swapped around if need be or to try different things. Also - keep an eye on the scales as keeping the weight down without compromising strength on a bike like this makes it really versatile and great fun.

Enjoy... and post pics so I can drool.
