<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">Update from NRW on opening trails at Brechfa, unfortunately looks like a month or two. But it seems we are able to do the feasibility study before they officially reopen the trails which is good news:</div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa"></div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">With regards opening the Mountain Bike trails, as discussed on the phone last Friday we will <span class="_4yxo">not</span> be opening Abergorlech, Byrgwm and Sifigwm car parks on the 6th of July and the Mountain Bike trails will remain closed due to the amount of Harvesting going on and site will be show<span class="text_exposed_show">n as closed on our website.</span></div>
<div class="text_exposed_show">
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">I can appreciate that its been a very long time since a number of club members have been able to get out and ride the trails and no doubt were looking forward to getting back out onto them.</div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">The harvesting work being undertaken was programmed work for this year but due to the COVID 19 outbreak and the demand in timber these contracts were brought forward to both take the opportunity of the forest and trails being closed to the public and to feed some of the timber demand. We felt that this would then reduce the impact harvesting would have been spread over a longer period. At the moment there are harvesting works past the Abergorlech car park and these will then be moving further up the Gorlech valley and there are also 2 harvesting contractors in Byrgwm, one of these making their way towards Byrgwm entrance.</div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">Following the harvesting work back in the winter on the section of the Raven there is remedial work that I need to undertake to get this stretch back up to standard and my intention is to completely re work this part of the trail along with other sections of the MTB trails in Brechfa. At the moment between harvesting and the remedial work being undertaken it could mean the MTB trails being closed for at least another month possibly 2, depending on when I can get my MTB contractors to start work on the trails to upgrade parts of these.</div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">I apologise that I’m unable to open the trails come the 6th of July but I need to make sure that the Forest is safe to the public before we allow access and I also feel that the trails are in need of some upgrades as mentioned and would like to take the opportunity now to do so.</div>
<div class="_2cuy _3dgx _2vxa">As I mentioned Friday there is access to the Graig, Keepers and Brechfa West to enable you to stay local and for when restrictions are lifted to allow you to travel further or for members closer to these areas, Pembrey, Halfway and Caio will also have access but unfortunately have no dedicated Mountain Bike trails as in Brechfa.</div>
