A customer who I deliver post to had this in their garden ready to go to the tip, so in exchange for 4 bottles of beer I gave it a new home...
Two tins of spray paint, some new bits, some old bits and a bit of time and my first singlespeed is enjoying it's first rides....

Were the original forks knackered?
What spray paint did you use as I can never get a decent finish with cans ?
Like it BTW ๐
I love skip bikes.
Nice.

No the forks were fine - I just liked the look of the straight blades more.
The spray was from Focus. Gloss spray - plastikote I think.
The finish is OK considering I did it the garden with the frame suspended from the washing line. It's not very durable though - I'm begining to wish i'd laquered it too.
Cool old GT. The old paint didn't look too bad?
Tried that plastikote but it looked like it had been painted on by a 3 year old with a wire brush. Must be me ๐ณ

It had pitted in a lot of places. I just rubbed down the bad bits and keyed the rest. There was no point removing good paint.
I also like to recycle others waste. Local recycling centre scrap skip and Police lost and found sales great.
Some nice old steel things are found frequently which are great ssing material and gifting to folks new to the biking thing.
Trek 930 with True Temper Ox steel niceness.
Saracen Traverse Elite - mint - this week.
Best? A Klein Adroit - seriously! Shamelessly ebay'd 'though.
very nice indeed.
