Brake lever reach

Is it possible to narrow the distance between bars and lever on a set of hydraulic brakes when the lever adjuster is adjusted as far as possible but they’re still too far from the bars?

Surely if they are any closer than the current designed minimum distance you wouldn't have any 'void' to pull the lever into when actually using the brakes?

If you have long fingers and they are adjusted in as far as possible, yet are still too far away, then there is something very wrong going on somewhere in my opinion.

Sounds a bit odd that brake levers set to minimum reach are too far away for someone with long fingers.

What brakes and what bars are you using?

Pics would help of the setup you've got currently.

Carefully bend the levers

How low are your levers positioned?

What you have described doesn't compute in my simple brain and I can only think your levers are pointing downwards vertically?

Heat and bend the levers. Or try and crash in the exact right way.

Does sound weird though, very few brakes don't have enough adjustability for stubby fingered people never mind long fingered elfs.

I've never seen a set of brakes which couldn't be adjusted to come too-far in if you wanted to, which makes me suspect there is something else wrong, maybe a sticky piston, of too much fluid (pistons weren't pushed back) when they were bled?

This is the only thing I can think of that would cause the problem.

Are we talking about MTB bars here, or road/Gravel?
