Although looks like e-bike only as it needs the power source.

The Bosch ABS system prevents the front wheel from locking up, with sensors clad to partner Magura’s MT5 brakes telling the system when the front wheel may be prone to locking. Crucially, the system works no matter the terrain beneath the rider, as demonstrated to press at a gathering today. bosch skids

Adding 800 grams in weight, the package won’t weigh down the commuter bikes for which it is primarily intended. Power is drawn from the battery, but Bosch says that the levels taken are so negligible the system will still function when the battery has shut off power to the bike’s motor.

Sounds good, will it stop you going over the bars too, that would be more clever!

Is the Bosch "ABS system" for MTB bikes?

Anyone know an estimated ETA for this?

ABS is not the answer on two wheelers it is on 4. Its still very hard to swerve when the ABS is on and the ABS cannot measure the side loads on the wheel so brake when banked over the abs won't always kick in in time.

I think you're probably right for motorbikes but this system is primarily designed for commuter e-bikes which will tend to not be pushed to their dynamic limits except when trying to do an emergency stop when 'just riding along' and a car pulls out on them. They certainly won;t be 'banked' over to any great extent.

So, the ABS will prevent the front wheel locking up, and because the rider is unlikely to be a pro (ie heals down, driving the bike into the ground) they will simply continue along not slowing down til they hit what ever they were braking to avoid!

The second study, based on data from more than 5,400 bicycle collisions and falls, also confirms that no braking took place in up to 75 percent of collisions. This is where ABS systems can be invaluable.

Maybe I'm missing something but if in 75% of accidents there was no braking, how does ABS help?
