Yup, the red rash on the inside of leg, has turned out to be borrelia, and not just a red rash. Bugger.

Ten days of penicillin, 3 times a day, and I'll be back to normal with a bit of luck.

The good news, in a relative sense, it that I should be OK to continuing training according to the doctor. Surprised by that news, but I'll go with it, although perhaps at a slightly reduced intensity.

Anybody with experience/knowledge of training and penicillin?

Go and get specialist treatment / consultation. Need a lot more antibiotics than that and again IIRV penicillin is not the best.

Get real professional advice from a specialist

IIRC borrelia is LYme is it not? 10 days penicillin is not what many recommend

Ten days is the standard dose, and it worked for me before when I had the classic bullseye mark.

I was under the impression that Lyme disease comes from getting borrelia, but not in every case.

TSC

I don't know all the details hence the links but I would be checking.

10 days is the standard dosage used in the NHS but IIRC some specialists think much more is needed
