Boring bike stand question

I've been using Topeak dual touch bike stand for years to store my bikes. Wee problem with newer "rectangle" top tubes ... the hooks on the Topeka stand are too narrow and the bikes aren't resting in the hooks. Instead, the hook is pinching the side of the frames and causing my frame protection to ruck up and come loose over time.

Ideally, I'd like to source wider, flat bottom profile, hooks to still use the Topeak stands. I'm not super convinced about storing bikes vertically (steady rack and equivalents) due to a bit of, probably unfounded, fear over it impacting my wonderfully bled brakes.

Anyone out there suffering the same issue? I'd CAD up a replacement hook if I had access to a 3D printer.

Any other recommendations?
