I need a new crankset for my remedy 7 but it has to be boost specific. I'am currently running a 10 speed sunrace 10-42 on the back with a Raceface ride crankset converted to singlespeed.

It weighs a hefty 1000 grams and I want to get a lighter one. I was thinking of a shimano slx but they're all 1x11. Would this still be ok to run with my current set up? Any suggestions?

Yes, that would be fine.

I'm actually about to sell exactly that crankset (in 175 length) off a new bike, should you be interested.

I'm running a Shimano XT boost crankset (11 speed) with the same 10 speed sunrace cassette out back and it's just fine. I bought XT as it was no more expensive the the SLX from the well known retailer we all use at times.

No issues with the chain dropping? Do you run a chain guide?

Sorry to butt in!

Boost specific? ?

What actually makes a crank set boost specific essentially?

Sorry for the hijack!

The rings are set 3mm further out than a standard crankset to match the cassette.

Chain dropping is no better or worse than any other crankset i've used. No guide is ran on the boost set up and no chain drop so far.

I've also got the non boost version of the same crank on another bike, with the same cassette too and the chain would occasionally drop on that so I fitted a guide and had no issues since.
