Pondering putting some wider summer tyres on my ebike.
It’s a trek rail and came with Bontrager SE5 team issue 2.6, which aside from being too flimsy I really liked for the summer.
(I since swapped them for Vittoria mazzas which are narrower and a.more aggressive tread, for the winter)
Anyway, the SE5 2.6 are absolutely massive. More like a 2.8 or 3.0 I guess.
So given I liked the SE5 I am thinking about maybe the G5 which is the same tread, but a stronger casing.
However the G5 come in a 2.5
Anyone know how they size up vs the SE5 2.6?
I.e. are they a true to size 2.5 or a massive 2.5
Thanks!
(Ps, I posted this about an hour or so ago, which I can see in my posting history but not in the forum lost if threads....weird. sorry if it ends up being a duplicate!)
anyone?
i have an SE4 2.4 on a 30mm internal width rim and the carcass measures 2.35 inches across. I've seen a 2.6 SE4 on a similar sized rim and it was pretty big.
NSMB have done reviews on the SE5. probably worth checking there.
edit: just read your post properly. my advice is not relevant. other than the NSMB review. ask your questions in the comments and you’ll likely get an answer
Nice one, thanks I'll try that
