Have removed remote pop lock thingy from my reba fork today as the return spring is ****ed, it doesn't get used enough to bother a proper repair.
I can just twist the adjuster, but it'd be easier with a "tab" to grab I reckon.
Was thinking of wrapping a cable tie around the adjuster to do this but this won't work. Has anyone bodged this another way?
Put a bolt with decent sized head into the cable retention grub screw hold. ๐
Or just use some epoxy or jb weld stuff to glue a tab onto it.
If the return spring is ****ed then there shouldn't be much force required to adjust the compression and the glue should hold fine.
nice one, cheers both. A.
if it's pop loc then the lever does the locking not the fork....is it the spring in the dial on the fork that has gone?
I just slipped an O ring onto the groove for the cable.
I used a washer held in place by the grub screw for ages. Did the job.
nomakoman - yes that's the spring. I read about them being trouble and figure I can live without.
cheers for extra options folks, I have a spare rubber loop with tab from an sks mini pump holder that might do the trick...
if you undo the right hand leg top you can pull the red damper assembly out and unclick the end of the spring with a screwdriver, then it is totally manual from the cap. there is an online Peterpoddy guide somewhere
Yup, and you can replace the top cap for the Pike one with a tab ...
nice one, just ridden MCR to Glossop on the Trans Penine without the remote, and the spring wasn't returning it when I changed the position so I think it's already disconnected.
^ is anyone brave enough to click that for me?
It links to a pdf called poplock conversion, and has pictures and text of how to do the conversion.
Or it could be hard core leprechaun porn...

Sorry for scaring you!
I should have said "here is Peter Poddys PDF guide"
