Has anyone ridden both bikes? Is there much difference?
As a separate question, what kind of overall weight are folks' Blue Pigs coming out at? Sub 30lbs, or 30lbs+?
Can't comment on the difference between the 2, I've got the standard Blue Pig and my build (Revs, Pro 2/Flow wheels, Reverb, XT groupset, 2.4NN/2.25RaRa tubeless) comes in at exactly 30lb. It rides lighter than it feels though !
X saves about a third of a pound.
I have one of each in 17" in stock if you wanted to compare and are any where near me?
Brant, do they ride any different or is it just weight?
According to my spreadsheet my Blue Pig X came in at approx 28lbs with the following build.....
18" Blue Pig X Frame
150mm Revs
XT drivetrain
Stans Flows / Hope Pro2
Scott Stroke 2.4 UST tyres (900g each)
Reverb
Formula RX brakes
Sunline V1 745mm bars
Gusset Staff 50mm stem
I haven't ridden a standard Blue Pig so can't comment on that question.
Just weighed my 18in Mk1 Blue Pig. 29.7lb
Build:
RS Revs 150mm RLT
FSA Pig Pro Headset
Nukeproof 760mm bar
Truvativ Husselfelt Stem 50mm
Superstar grips
Ragley post
Charge Spoon saddle
Pro II Flow wheels with maxxis minion f and WTB stout tyres
Tubes
SLX/XT/Hone drivetrain
XT/Saint brakes
SPD pedals
I'm pretty happy with it. The Seat tube is a bit slack but a 27.3 post sorts that.
One of the big things steering me towards a Blue Pig is that I already have a Reverb in 30.9. If I buy a BFe or a new Soul, I need to figure another £250 into the bargain for a new seatpost.
Bump. Anyone ridden both, and is the difference just weight?
The new BFe and Soul will both fit a 30.9 post with a shim to 31.6
