I've not ridden anything in these hills but looking at the map it looks like there might be a few promising bits of singletrack - anyone with a .gpx or that wants to be a guide for a day?
I think there's a few d/h runs in Orchard Portman and there's bits up Culmstock beacon I've ridden but other than that I don't think there's much up there worth riding......................unless I'm missing something.
It's always really muddy up there too 😉 Where I live I've got the Blackdowns on one side and Quantocks on the other so it's no contest really.
The Blackdowns look better on a map than they are in real life! There's the odd bit of singletrack here and there but they're awkward to link together. The dh trails at Orchard Portman are good for an hour or so play but the whole place suffers in the wet, if you want a ride then head to the quantocks 🙂
It is terrible in the wet.
