Sun in Wales. Rocks on Rhiw Trumau. Cracking day to descend Y Grib though if you were up for an alternative.
Nice ride that but the early part up to the top of Y Das can be tedious. My Mrs chucked a wobbly anyhow.
The 2 descents mentioned above are great but you have to earn them.
Its not my favourite Black Mountains route.
The Llangorse loop is my favourite.
I'll be exploring the Black mountains tomorrow solo but further east of that one.

Haha! I tried to warn you. When your Mrs gets over it do the Llangorse loop. It is unbelievably good.
just about worth it all for the two big descents i reckon, especially crug mawr (sp ?)
Got there and my Garmin had a flat battery so just had the iphone taped to the bars.
Think we messed up at the top of the carpet/grass climb,we ended up going right and over the top,rather than around the highest point.
Mrs is never going on the black mountains again lol,and I'm gonna buy a map and have another go.
lesson learned
I have a variant of that route that I'm meaning to try. It involves climbing Crug Mawr then going across the top of the range to the summit of Y Das, down grwyn fawr, then down Crug Mawr back to Crickhowell.
My Mrs won't do the Black Mountains again either after our attempt to do the Classic route which ended with crossing cow paddocks in the dark without lights!
Love that area though.
