Planning ahead...way ahead! When the summer comes and we have dry, dusty trails and long balmy summer nights i plan to go bivvying with my 12 and 10 year old boys. Bikes as well, probably. So, looking for somewhere reasonably remote but with fresh running water (stream, not a water supply) and the capacity to build a fire, with some protection from the wilder aspects of the elements.

Any suggestions. I am in the West (bristol), so wales, south west are within easy reach.

thanks

Beach bivvy might be worth planning?

The Brecon Beacons. South side, near the damn, in the forest.
Pine trees overhead, sound of the trees gently swaying and of course the soft carpet of pine needles and the evocative smell of the pine sap.
Lovely!

Probably not good to do the fire thing any more. Especially if you get it as dry as you want it to be.
