Am I just late to the party or is the box above both bike models on the home page a new addition? Something exciting is coming tomorrow apparently!

I'm hesitant on the carbon concept but I reckon it wreaks of 29er, nice to see them expanding and the benefits of bigger wheels are hard to ignore but i'll keep swooning after a one20 for now

As long as it's not making my new 145 obsolete I don't mind!

29er perhaps - given the current push on them by the industry? Unless they're going to make a carbon Aeris.

If the company has reached the size where it can produce carbon frames then that's great, there's a lot of initial investment required. Bet the frame will still be half the price of most carbon frames out there!

Really hope it's a long travel 29er! I'll be pressing the order button if it is.

I'm betting mid-travel 29er, 130mm at the back. Or maybe a 29er hardtail...

I have absolutely no idea, but I'd be very interesting in test riding a Bird 130-140mm 29er.

I've given up holding out for the steel hardtail 🙂

I remember Bird Ben making a hint about a 29er HT.

It seems pretty unanimous that people want/think it to be a 29er of some guise, not sure why but I think a medium travel full suss or hardtail is the most plausible. Feel the UK is better suited to that than a long travel 29er but I've very limited experience admittedly

I heard rumours from someone at Swinley that someone from bird had been ripping around on a bare 29er full Susser.

That would be nice !!

I've been holding out for the Whyte S150 before deciding between that and a Bird 145. If this is a full suss 29er I'll almost certainly get one.

I'll be checking the website occasionally but nothing yet, I'd hope it would be released around 9am but that seems far less exciting than at a random point throughout the day...

Oh interesting.... BEN DON'T KEEP US WAITING TOO LONG. 🙂

I Have held off buying into the 650 fad as I have ridden quite a few bikes now and for me they just don't offer anywhere near the benefits that bigger wheels offer (all my bikes are now 29ers). If this is some kind of 29" platform then this is great news... Now the most important question - what colour is it?

Also interested to see what it is. 29er 140/150 travel seems to be what most are hoping for!

pressing refresh wildly. But at the same time hoping it's nothing I want too much because I spent all of my money on the Vitus.

Can you imagine the policy chaos?

"We're going to do x, that's what this country needs" "actually x isn't right, let's do something else"

It'd be like watching Diane Abbot give a lecture on quantum mechanics.

[Edit] Or frauline May in a 15second cassetteboy style mashup.[/edit]

They're probably late publishing it as they're hurriedly trying to jam 29in wheels into the 650b frame they were going to reveal, having read this thread.

Just remove the tyres for a quick fix and go the same way as companies do with pedals, that'll get it to fit...

Had a play with the Zero TR builder while I was on there and spotted a Race Face Aeffect Dropper with 150mm drop. Where do I buy this? Same lever as the brand x/tranz x offerings and only £150.
Anyone know anything about these? Nothing on the RF site.

It isn't that I want a 29er, it's just that they already make two awesome 27.5 hardtails and two awesome 27.5 full-sussers. Obvious gap is obvious!
