Very disappointing.
Let us know if there's anything any of us can do in support.

thanks for the support guys. its nice to know that there are people out there who would be willing to stand up to these kinds of people.
after i gave the info to my mate he had spoken to an officer at his local cop shop who said that they wouldn't be interested in pursuing this. now it could be that the officer he spoke to got it wrong or couldn't be bothered but we will be taking further advice on this.
but upon hearing this from the officer my friend made an emotional response to the guy on his youtube account saying that he knows where he lives and will come and beat him up for being racist etc
obviously the guy replied with more racist rubbish and and very cockily said come on down then.
so we put up some hints of knowing where he lives...i.e. what town he lives in, what bike he rides, even his postcode.
he has since gone very quiet as he's now probably papping himself knowing that we actually do know where he lives...so hopefully that will be the end of the matter
Well now you've lost your moral and probably your legal position.saying that he knows where he lives and will come and beat him up for being racist etc
I can completely understand this btw, but it's now just an internet brawl with no winners.
Yeah, that's definitely changed things, so errr can we have a link? ๐
@gonzy. Tell your mate to delete his comment's asap. Whatever the rights or wrongs a personal threat coupled with knowledge of the bigots address is something the police might take seriously !!!

true...but once my friend had responded then there was no going back.
but hopefully this guy will think twice before posting any more racist bile online
Shall we start a new thread called "Violent Threatening Stalking Scum on Youtube"?
Shall we start a new thread called "Violent Threatening Stalking Scum on Youtube"?
good idea...and while we're at it, maybe we can start another titled..."youtube racist tracked down and all evidence given to police who dont give a shit about online racism"?
Waaah... I want links
sorry yunki but i've told my friend to remove his comments.
it wasnt his finest moment...i tracked the guy down so he could be reported to the police. but once the police made it clear that they didnt care less about online racism..he was understandably upset and angry. hence his response to the guy and then further disclosure of where he lives so they guy would take him more seriously
he took a bollocking from me for making his comments but at the same time we fully understand why he did it
but this just reinforces what many in our group believed right form the start...the police dont care about this and will do nothing. we held onto the hope that the law would protect us and other from online racism but it hasnt...all its done is condoned racism online because either theyre powerless or dont care about it
and now we look like the bad guys
If your local police force have a Twitter or Facebook account, discuss it online with them and see if they're willing to explain in public why they won't pursue...
I'm extremely disappointed that the police didn't take this seriously.
However, I can't blame the OP's mate for going down the "I know where you live" route.
I do like the thought of some kind of cross community MTB solidarity ride, where I a local at Gisburn I'd be there.
POst up similar type police hating comments as this guy did and see of the coppers are interested then ๐
Very disappointing - coppers ought to remember what they would do were it "one of their own"*
* not a racial dig i mean one of their mates/families who got the abuse

This sounds like a sensible approach - get it on the radar of the PR team and they may suddenly become v interested.
If not then this and ask local media to cover it, I'll come along.
some kind of cross community MTB solidarity ride,
as will I - see if you can find out what days this fella rides and we can see if we bump into him ๐
NOT A THREAT but i would like to see his reaction to a large group
markburns-williamson@westyorkshire.pcc.pnn.gov.uk is the email address for the West Yorkshire (I seem to recall you said you were a Bradford lad?) Police and Crime Commissioner.
RM.
Like all public services, the police are stretched to breaking point.
It needs to be framed correctly.
The original comments made by Dean weren't just racism, they were violent threats motivated by racist hate carried out in a public and traceable arena.
The police should definitely take this seriously imo and I would put something in writing cc your local MP. Although as others have mentioned, in this day and age I wouldn't be surprised if the twitter/Facebook approach shamed them into action faster.
From a brief look around Dean's posting habits there will be lots of other victims of his abuse. There was nothing wrong imo with making it clear that you knew his identity to remove the cowardly safety net he had and prevent him from abusing others, but it was a very big mistake to couple it with any level of physical threat.
rogermoore - i'm not from Bradistan!! although there are a few from there and nearby. however the guy whose page the abuse got posted on is based in Lancashire. as are the rest of the group.
as i said the father of one the lads in our group is a Chief Inspector at GMP. we will e looking to pass this on to him to see what he thinks. maybe with him on our side something will happen.
but for the moment we're prepared to le tit lie for the moment.
as for the threat my friend made...it was an emotional response to his hope of a police investigation being dashed
i now have to try and convince him to take it further but he's already said he doesnt.
Apologies mate. The reason I suggested the above as I've a friend who is a West Yorks cop and we were talking about the type of crime which were deemed high priority from a 'politics' point of view. Online abuse was one of those so I'm surprised it wasn't taken further.
Best of luck in getting this dealt with.
RM.
Contacting the commissioner is a top idea IMO.

This chap had his day in court.....
That arsehole is local to me. Glad to see he's got a wider audience now.
Gary Farrimond, from Wigan, also said he wanted to โburnโ the Quran in a string of Islamophobic messages he posted on Facebook under the alias โGary Gaz Farrimondโ.
Surprised they managed to track him down with such a clever alias.
ghosltymachine and chakaping - i would like nothing more than to nail this guy..within the confines of the law...but for that process to happen the law needs to take an interest to start off with...
Just shows the double standards between forces.......
Surprised they managed to track him down with such a clever alias.
Poor journalism to term that an alias
My social media feed sometimes features posts from ex-schoolmates with stuff that's at best utterly nonsensical and at worst a straight share of Britain First type bollix.
Having known the characters for some years, none of them are particularly bright or educated, some are either ex-forces or are married to ex-forces people, some have a natural tendency towards indulging in what I can only term as "Fear Porn" - i.e. reading the hysterical headlines of the Daily Heil or Faily Express and taking them at face value.
The uneducated ones can usually be silenced with a response of "provide a citation to support your assertion", the thicker ones simply respond with variations of "yeah, but...(etc)...innit".
It never ceases to amaze me how people who will share a badly photoshopped picture of refugees to support their world view are seemingly incapable of using a reputable search engine to check out the facts beforehand...
FWIW one of these ex-schoolmates gleefully shared a post celebrating "National Dognut Day" (sic) the other week, another asserts that she's entitled to her opinion that "Britain is full" because - despite having elected to spawn four children and that her frequent flyer and loving mother of four lifestyle is down to good honest hard work and neglects to mention the generous settlement from a wealthy ex-husband. Another guy posts lots of things that are anti-Islam and stuff about "taking are country back", but he appears to have never left East Anglia. Finally there's an ex-forces guy, who seems to have served in some kind of a spud peeling or junior wire-crimping capacity.
I read this thread from start to finish last night and was pretty pleased at how sensible almost everyone was. Then you get the police letting everyone down.
To my mind - as a white guy - we should be tolerant of everything except intolerance. Violence is rarely the answer and I would never wish to encourage it, but if people have genuine reason to fear for their safety OR the safety of others, and feel let down by the authorities, then I would find it very hard to condemn a level of violence.
Nothing on this planet puts a smile on my face like a youtube video of a teenage mugger picking on an old codger who turns out to have been european middleweight boxing champion back in the day. Maybe ninja grannies but they're rarer.
fwiw -I'm rather disappointed the polis aren't following this up.
Just as an aside, why do people allow comments on their YT videos? It's dead simple to stop them (or vet them) and if you allow them, well, you know what you're bound to get.
