Can anyone suggest a destination in Europe with a good chance of decent weather, trails and ambience for this Christmas and New Year as I am desperate to get way from the UK this Christmas and New Year to somewhere warmer and drier.

Canaries? You'll struggle to find warm and dry at Christmas in [s]the northern hemisphere [/s] Europe

I'm off to Tenerife
It's warm and dry at Christmas 9 out of 10 times, last year was the 1 in 10 🙁

I would highly recommend http://bikingandalucia.com/ my wife and I have been for two Christmases now
Nice warm weather friendly atmosphere great place to stay great scenery and good mountain biking. We were sunbathing after our rides in the first year

Madeira
Job done, best trails outside of the alps apparently.
20 degrees at that time of year.
Brendog et al highly rate it.
Not over commercialized yet either which is good 🙂

Southern Spain. If you're looking to go with a company you may struggle to find somewhere that will take you over Christmas though. Beware of the 3 Kings holiday too - at the start of the New Year, not sure on exact dates, but every shop will be closed for that...not a problem if you stock up on food.

We at bikingandalucia.com are open over Christmas and New Year. Here in our part of Andalucia (Sierra Nevada), we have less rain than the Canaries (warm days and cool nights), over the last 3 Christmas and New Year festive periods we have only had one day when rain has affected us. 8)

Reyes is the 6th January.
You will find some shops open but like here - it will be the odd Indy or one of the big chains.

Very odd how some people some people only ever post to reply to holiday thread and always the same company.

Can I come? We've already had "that argument" about whose parents we suffer first.

"Im off to Jamaica. See you on the second".

We´re open at Xmas/New year and already have bookings over that period.
Based right on the beach with plenty of Winter sun to enjoy.
Stunning singletrack rides with plenty of bus uplift during the day & fun après-bike on the coast at night.
Just 450 Euros for a packed week!

I'd agree with the comments regarding 'bikingandalucia.com' I've been over in Jan/Feb and it's always been good weather, the trails are obviously very good with the small village of Orgiva half a mile down the road. All you need for xmas.
