Hi, I'm doing some research for a travel company and would be interested to hear people's thoughts and opinions on what you'd like to see mountain bike specific holidays offering.
What's most important to you when booking a biking holiday? What would you like to see that you've yet to find?
I hope you have your flame proof suit on. Personally I'd like a 2 week tour with no climbing but plenty of downhills
BasqueMTB is pretty perfect IMO. Add sensible flight options/transfers with understanding of valuable bikes in hold luggage and bulky helmets, pads etc to accommodate and Job done...
The issue for a new entrant is going to be that without a committed, equipped, skilled and experienced guiding team it’s a non starter.
A free trip.
Travel company does not sound as good a trip as owner/rider follow his wheel in my world.
Some sort of massive overland romp getting from one place to another. Climbs, descents and actual getting somewhere
Small company where the owners are still involved, small groups and options to vary the contents based on the group.
High quality food, nice chalet etc.
OK that's great.
So what about format?
lesgrandepotato what would you like a company/guide/host do for you on a big overland route? Personally I'd want essentially rider support, all the advantages of bike packing without being encumbered by kit on the ride.
Or do most people only want gravity if they're paying for it?
