Thats crap news. At least they're pretty unique / obvious bikes so the Lordswood chavs will stick out on them. Worth a stroll around the woods to check?

WCA - I am so sorry to hear that. 🙁 My eyes will be peeled when I'm in the area and I do hope that you get them returned safe and sound. It really is rubbish though.

Just spoken to the police.

Originally they would do no investigation because the was no CCTV. I kind of understand that.

Now I have told them the time and place where the bike was seen. There is CCTV along that street. I have been told that they will take no action unless I can confirm that the person and bike are both on the CCTV footage and identifiable.

I now have to speak to Southampton Council CCTV team and describe what the bike and rider look like so they can confirm that the CCTV recorded the person. The description I got from the person who spotted the bike this morning was "A pikey on a way too nice bike". Not sure if that will be enough...

Have you called the bike shops to see if anyone has been in on one of them?

Proper shame.

Matt at GA Cycles saw it ride past at 9am. Nearest CCTV is by the old police station on Shirley Rd so lets hope the rode along that way.

On the bright side - What new bike?

Sad news.

Lets hope he castrates himself on that weirdly placed shock on the pronghorn.

And the Ti frame cracks.

Worth hanging around in the same area/time as the bike was spotted ? The tea-leaf might have a regular daily pattern.

The Hub has CCTV, they might look back over it for you.

No CCTV facing the street

But another witness saw both bikes being ridden down Shirley Rd around 8;30 with the riders shouting and being abusive to the other road users.

She noticed it because one still had the green Big Bike Bash race plates and she thought it was terrible that someone who came to the BBB would be nasty to other people.

Nice the BBB is held in high regard but still miffed about the
bikes.

I'll keep an eye out for you. Doesn't sound like a targeted theft, just some fairly thick locals striking lucky. Should mean better chance of getting them back.

Pop into Cash Converters in a couple of days. Morons like these have a level of stupidity that knows no bounds.

At least one of the bikes has been seen a couple of times so some chance of getting it back, possibly.

In the grand tradition of bolting the door after the horse has bolted, I now have CCTV installed with remote recording and monitoring it from my iPad.

Are cat burglars really cats? I have seen three of them walk past the garage so far and am getting paranoid.

You only need to be worried if they look like this Nick.
