Is it really necessary to book bike spaces on French trains as the SNCF site is telling me? It's only for a half hour 'hop' from St Omer to Calais, to make sure we get to our ferry in time. Tempted to risk it and just turn up (my mate and I'll have been touring Belgium) but don't want some jobsworth saying 'Non!'
Anyone got experience of this and can speak with some authority ( although I know that experience is not a pre-requisite for authority here on STW)? ๐
Merci mon petit pois.
We travelled from Boulogne to Calais after the Tour stage last week .Bought a ticket didnt book the bikes on (there were 3 of us) bikes were free .The carriage had racking for 6 bikes .It was really easy and the staff were nice
As in we just turned up in hope and bought tickets
Cheers for that, forgot I started this thread till now! ๐ณ
