Hi All

Going to Scotland in a week or so and will be taking a bike. There won't be space in the car so going to use my tow ball mounted rack. Normally only take bikes a relatively short distance on this and am slightly concerned with the amount of salt and general road cack the bike will get on it when subjected to 400+ miles on the back of the car.

Does anybody know of a cover that is robust enough to take the battering of a motorway journey and protect the bike from the worst of the elements

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers

Ken

I've had tow-bar racks for years, never even worried about it - in fact sometimes the rain cleans the bikes a bit.

think it will add massively to the wind resistance and put a lot of strain on the bike rack fixings (depending on type)

My bike is generally cleaner after a good motorway "wash" on the back of the car.......... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Carrier bag over the saddle seems popular with a lot of people.
