Due to the eye watering price of parking at Heathrow, friends are having our van on their drive whilst we are away. Means we need to get the bikes in their boxes from just outside Reading, on the train. Anyone any experience of this with GWR? How grumpy are they? Think if we travel after 1900 it would be ok.
Would it not be easier to use the Elizabeth Line then change at Hayes to get to Heathrow?
Yeah that’s what I’m planning, but still need to get the train from Pangbourne to Hayes which looks to be GWR on trainline. I’m guessing the Elizabeth line bit will be fine.

I've had my boxed bike on Elizabeth Line (going the other way, Paddington to Heathrow).
Absolutely fine.
Bloody long walk from EL T2 station into T2 itself though! Not sure about the other terminals.
Thanks all. Idea has been scrapped as checked Heathrow parking again and the price has nearly halved since looking a couple of months ago. So paying for connivence.
