Help required!
Just bought a 2022 Specialized diverge sport carbon.
It came with a SRAM Apex 1x cranknset 45.5mm chainline I believe? It also had 1 spacer on the BB drive side.
Thought I would fit my GRX cranknset so I can fit my power meter. So I fitted an ultegra bottom bracket with no spacers then the GRX cranks. But the chainline seems miles off outboard. Why would this be the case? Is the diverge not compatible with GRX cranks? For clarity adding spacers would only make the problem worse.

Different offsets on the chainrings?

I just googled and it says GRX 1x chainline is 49.7

https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/grx-11-speed/FC-RX810-1.html

Is that about the difference? What is 'miles off?'

4mm is barely a sprocket width, I'd not be overstressed about that TBH

Yeah it would be about 4mm.
The problem is that in 1st gear the chain noise is rather loud due to the bend in the chainline.
Assume chainring spacer is the answer.
