Has anyone tried to make a warranty claim with Bikeinn or any of the Inn shops?
How quickly did they deal with things/how did it go?
Got a pair of Vaude winter boots that have developed a fault after four uses.
Could you go straight to Vaude with a copy of the invoice & cut out the middle man?
Bit of of a pain and must have taken a couple of months for a refund when I sent back a Silca tool. When I checked tracking it looked as if they had received it but it was only tracked until it left the UK - fairly pointless.
When did you buy that? You can claim return within 30 days of purchase https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/devoluciones/st
Very slow, it was some time ago though.
Thanks all.
Not great experiences then.
Think I'll try contacting the UK importers though I don't think they stock these shoes hence me having to go with Bikeinn.
Great boots but very disappointed with this as they're not exactly cheap.
UK importer want me to send them back to Bikeinn...
I'm thinking of just glueing them up as I can see a new pair doing exactly the same thing.
Just when I thought I'd found a winter flat shoe that wouldn't fall apart like all my Fivetens have.

Not surprising really as first recourse is always the retailer as that is who you have the contract of sale with, and using bikeinn has bypassed the UK importer.
I would send them back to Bikeinn - it will take ages though... perhaps ask for refund?
or shoe glue...
I have been using Shimano GF8 (GF800) so far really great (apart from a little hard to put on).
might as well leave an honest review + photo on:
Review left but no option to post any pictures of the fault.
I've asked about a refund as it's within 30 days but that just seems to be for un used stuff.
I was not expecting the UK importer to be able to do anything TBH but worth a shot.
If it's going to take months it's kind of pointless as we'll be out of the minus temperatures by then.
It's one of the risks of buying online, especially from the European megastores.
Do you save X% on the price but risk the hassle if / when a warranty issue arises?
Or do you buy local for the confidence of having good warranty backup, but pay X% extra for the security?
As someone living in Spain though, I always buy from Ze Germans (especially Bike24 who are awesome) because 'customer service' is still a relatively new concept for our Iberian friends.
p.s. OP that looks totally fixable with some high strength shoe glue.
I'd have loved to have bought them from a UK supplier but I couldn't find one.
Going to roll the dice with sending them back.
Shame as they were very comfortable and also pretty warm on a -8 ride the other day.
Surely just glue that and save yourself the hassle, get some Shoe Goo.

rightly so - nothing to do with them.

Why? What are you expecting the outcome to be? A replacement pair (which may have the same problem) or a refund??
I'd be a lot more pragmatic and just spend a couple of quid on shoe glue....
TJ.
Have you actually read what I wrote?
At no point did I say it was.
I followed a suggestion by someone who bothered with a helpful reply.😏
Looking for a refund.
If they've split after four uses I don't really want them.
The roll the dice was just a little tongue in cheek after some of the less than glowing comments about their returns...
Are they the MOAB ones? Quality must have gone down as my four year old ones have been brilliant. Don't wear them that much (as it's rarely Scotland cold here in the FoD) but they still look like new - other than some mud.
Interested as I had to get mine from a non UK site, but if they ever did fail I was defo going to replace them. My version seems a huge uplift in quality to my normal 5-10s.
