Was at BPW yesterday
Went over to ride Popty Ping only to find it and Hot stepper closed off, Mountain rescue were just heading into the trail so guessed someone had a bad off
Headed down the fire road to Root Manouvers, once at the bottom we saw a rescue helicopter come over and go upto the top of the hill, guessing they were looking for somewhere safe to land so Mountain rescue could get the casualty to them before being airlifted off
Hope they are ok and its not as bad as it seemed, brings home the fact things do go wrong and there are great people out there who volunteer their time to come and rescue us
I was also there, apparently somebody binned it on Popty Ping and broke their leg, somebody was saying it was a hard hit from a berm rather than one of the jumps.
Think they were conscious when they got airlifted out but evidently immobile.
Same thing happened last year when i was up, someone binned it on the same part, had mountain rescue, helicopter, etc all out, it's a blue, but Popty Ping does have a lot of areas that can buck you or you lose the trail with the berms, and usually at speed.
The hip jump into a right-left chicane? Had a couple of near misses there, and one OTB…
