Can anyone please recommend a bike lock as purchased a new bike and need a lock to keep it safe whilst Im at work.

Depends how much you want to spend ,the on guard brute looks the part I use a kryptonite lock cost about £20 but I only lock up my crappy old orange five the rule is spend 10% of the value of the bike but I find that a bag of crud
Depends if you have to carry it - one of those Abus fold up ones, or leave it where you lock your bike - a Kryptonite D-lock.
Halfords are usually good for finding offers on locks.
At least 2 different kinds of lock for a bike left in the same place everyday. A proper chain with a separate padlock and a good d-lock would be my preference. You can leave them at work because it'll be miserable carrying 10kg of metal around.
