Hi all,

Decided to start commuting again and need a secondary lock as a further deterrent. I already have CLICKY but want something else aswell.

Should i get another D lock or something different to make life harder for the tea leafs.

Only want to spend about £35-40, so any recommendations.

cheers Rob

Longish cable that goes through D lock.... another expensive lock may just make thiefs notice your expensive bike

Spend £35-40 on a hack bike instead and buy a £2 lock?

no room for another bike and leaving it outside the house is just inviting trouble.

instead of buying and carrying more weight, try taking your front wheel off and put it next to the rear one, put the dlock through the two wheels, frame and anchor. It's quicker to do than you may think (with QR)

I do this and it works very well, even with my 21cm abus granit x

Pinhead Locks are a good idea as a "second lock". I've got them on my Rohloff'd h/t that I leave locked up all over the place....knowing that the expensive wheels and forks are always locked is nice - and they are still quick to remove.

If you have a bike that you dont want stolen dont leave it locked up.
Get a bike you dont mind if its pinched and that use that with a good lock for your trundle about bike. Get some wall hangers for you bikes and pait the wall with wipe down crayon proof paint and use it as a design aspect. you sould be able to store 3 bikes in hte space for one bike on the floor.
a saying around leeds is if you want something stolen put a bike lock around it.

£30 will not buy a good enough lock. Budget £100 and expect a weight of several kilos. Look at almax or motorcycle stuff.
