Say you go on a bike holiday (or I guess skiing, hiking, whatever), and you're staying in a catered chalet for a week - what sort of tip would you leave at the end? Or is it not the done thing?
I think a lot can depend on the country you're in. When I was in Morocco we were told what to tip the locals (van driver, cook and his mate) by the business owner...it wasn't much to be honest, but were told it was a lot to them. Then the owner didn't even want to accept an ice cream from me in the airport!
America is a different story though...everyone expects a tip.
£10 or more for the guide. Similar for chalet host/hostess.
Alright cheers
