We're going next week and planning an escape for a day. Any experiences?
Found some rental places and tramantura tours, but looking for best value
Most of the suff around pollenca is road bike orientated (both hire and routes). When I was there with the family, I drove down to soller for the day to ride with Andy at Tramonana Tours and was well worth the drive.
Thanks - I was thinking that may be the case. Tram Tours do a route from Pollenca though - will get in touch
These guys are ace - I hired a carbon road bike and did the big mountain loop. It is awesome: http://www.tramuntanatours.com/cycle_passes.html
another +1 for Andy and Tramuntana Tours. There is a decent shop in Port de Pollenca though where I hired a nice carbon road bike for a week. Pro Cycle Hire - just on the edge of town.
I'd highly recommend riding out to Cap de Formentor from Pollenca. It's a memorable route with the most amazing views. Equally, head up into the mountains from the old town in the direction of Lluc and you'll enjoy that too. You can come back to Pollenca along the valley and that makes for a great halfday or so route. The Alcudia peninsula is a good short option too. Very envious now, just thinking of it all! Have fun... ๐
Just decided to go back in the spring on the basis of this... http://www.tramuntanatours.com/mtb_tuent.html
dangerousdan - I'd recommend the route that drops into the Balitx valley too. Bit of a climb back out though!
