When are you back out on 2 wheels mate?
Hopefully soon... Saw the physio this week and she said I can start riding again now. When she saw the look on my face she added "but no hills, just gentle cruising". I'm not sure I'm capable of anything more than that anyway considering my level of fitness but hoping to go for a little ride tomorrow to see how it goes 🙂
So Wednesday rides might be a while away yet but things seem to be moving in the right direction at least!

My Mk2 Scirocco used and abused daily! Hopefully going to be replaced by something a little less thirsty and modern in the not-too distant future.
Loving some of these bike-cars especially the Mk2 Escort RS2000 and the cool Scirocco.
No pics of car with bikes, but here is my Estate on a wet winter's day at Saunton: [URL= http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z105/mk1chris/RS6/52BDD5DA-EA6B-457B-A377-D364D17FAFCD.jp g" target="_blank">

Sometimes I can get it to do some mpg, but not many!
My bike carrying car, with the rear seats out i can fit a bike inside but i don't drive to ride anywhere so it's very rare that there is ever a bike inside.
Off the road at the moment for new bodywork, the only original parts to be fitted back on is the bonnet 😀 , New full rear panel and valance, rear inner arches and rear quarters, door skins, inner sills and outer sills, front wings, front valance and possibly a new roof if i can find a donor car otherwise it'll be getting a section cut out and welded back in due to dodgy original sunroof, all new plastics, bumpers and window rubbers. The engine/running gear/etc was all replaced for new uprated parts 2 years ago. It's 30 years old so it needs a bit of bodywork and tlc….a bit like myself at 40yrs old.
Not too bad on MPG really, if i keep under 2500rpm i get 25+mpg, if i redline the current ABT 1960cc 16v engine i get 15ish mpg………but my sensible head has sold the current engine as it is a pig to keep in tune so a fast road engine/head is going back in.
Here's mine bikes go on the roof, kit in the boot, nice comfy cruiser

crashbanggg : wot's up with the scirocco that you want to get rid of it?, i've had 4 of them over the years and they're still one of my fav VW's.

Nothing wrong with it, don't get me wrong, its a great car but it looks as if I may be doing a lot of miles next year which it's not particularly suited for! If it comes to it then I'll ideally SORN it for the year and come back to it in due course!
not sure why everyone is so taken with the bootjumps - they cost a fortune for what they are and basically eat all the space in your berlingo. I can understand it for walkers / climbers.. crap for bikers as who wants to leave their bike outside the car?
I've got a berlingo it's ace - dead slow - never cost me anything and tyres are as cheap as they come. I've got the windowed car model with ply lined rears and 3 seat. Easily takes 3 dh bikes with wheels on and all gear inside and 2 on the outside if needed.

Could get quite a lot on that roof rack plus a load more inside

BMW 525D M Sport with detachable tow bar and Thule G6 LED bike rack.
Your car looks too big for your driveway
@ downhilldave - loving the Golf R. Been eyeing them up myself. Seems like an awesome machine!
Time to go a bit retro, these were taken about 30 years ago when preparing for our summer excursion to the British Track Championships where my poor old Ford Cortina got loaded with 8 bikes and an indeterminate quantity of wheels plus a few teenagers with shaved legs.
A small claim to fame on this one is the lad with the reddish hair went on to finish 4th in the Men's Sprint at the 1988 Olympics, unfortunately due to lack of talent I didn't achieve any fame like that 🙁
