In terms of cost vs sale price.

Got two frames, that due to me liking obscure/more individual bikes, I reckon will bomb on Ebay 🙁

No luck elsewhere and they've got to go.. so scare me off the idea 😉

rock3g - you are not kidding. I have never heard of those bikes. Where are they from?

Well, if you don't want them it's better to turn them into money. That's what I told myself when I got £155 for a frame that cost £500 a year previously. 🙂

Leku,

Appalache is a Canadian brand- based on a Balfa.

Propain, a German company- released in 2009.

Down to one bike, and being strict as I just don't use a DH bike enough- especially this year, work up Skye way for six months over the summer then hopefully off to Canada for a year!

If waiting a month meant they'd sell no bother, i'd be happy with that- just don't like seeing them/knowing they are sitting there.

Be careful with when you finish your auctions and so on, and you can always set a reserve or a highish starting bid. But when it comes to it if they have to go then they have to go, and you may have to bite the bullet and accept less than you'd really like.

I really like the look of the Appalache, but I don't have the money or the need for a DH frame at the moment sadly!

list it as a BIN or best offer, for 30 days? You get to monitor and reject low offers and get a feel for what it might go for. I had a Mk1 Nomad frame listed for £750 or best offer, got loads of £400 offers and a snotty email saying my asking price was wishful thinking. Ended up selling it "off ebay" *ahem* for £725 cash in my hand, no ebay or PP fees, met the buyer at a local, mutually convenient public venue.

And if you havent already done so try pinkbike for the propain, more DH orientated and likely to value it more? From memory does your propain have a CCDB? Would you get more selling the shock separately and either sell the propain with no shock, or buy a cheap shock from ebay and fit it.

cynic-als right though, buying away from the mainstream can net you a new bargain but youll take a hit when trying to sell it on.

Have you thought about advertising in the bikes' countries of origin?

Might be worth your while posting abroad if you can sell for significantly more.
