I have used Send it now for a few bikes and they have been very good. It's a cheaper way of using parcelforce.

Be warned the website is a bit quirky and told me I was using an out of date browser and add ins but it still let me continue and place the order. If it shows an error like that just continue and ignore it.

Cheers- looks very reasonable

Have you tried the drop off service for a full bike?

I just nip over the post office.
First time I posted a frame I was nervous as to what it would cost, was only about 20 quid with insurance though, pretty cheap I thought.
Sent a full bike as well and it was under 30 quid.
Think as long as the dimensions are under 3 metres combined for the length, width and breadth they will take it.
