This has been the the first winter I have got into night riding and bought a decent light but I can't see me using them much in the summer. What's the best way of keeping the rechargeable batteries in good nick so they will be fine when I need them more regularly next winter?

Reccommended to store batteries with 60% charge, I seem to remember.
