Hi

Whats the best route to get to Fife (aberdour specifically) on the road without having to go on any of the main roads. Only ever driven it.

A GPX file would be appreciated.

there's a cycle path out which you can get on around haymarket which goes over crammond brig then up the side of the road to dalmeny then south queensferry (where it dicks about in housing estates on the way to the bridge, but is marked) then over the bridge the road east isn't bad, but there could well be a path there too

I have only ever done the bits from the Tay bridge to Leven ,but I thought it went all the way to the bridges.

national cycle routes should take you there.
have a look on here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=11/56.0371/-3.3457&layers=C
pretty straight forward, and should be signposted.
