toying with the idea of a riding holiday abroad, and was wondering what would be the best time to go? What sort of drive time from calais?

July or August when the lifts are open.
Seven hours or so from Calais.

what mtb idle said. There are lifts somewhere most of the year but full access is quite a short season. Weather is even more random than the uk. Its great anytime, though
