Thinking of doing a few day road trip around Mid and North Wales. Have ridden the delights of Dyfi and wondered what other places are worth a visit. Would prefer something in steep and foresty and not trail centre (although rev bike park looks quite fun?)
any suggestions?
Rev's has your steep and rough covered.
Steep, forested and not a trail center...............mmmmm. Thats pretty much Wales then, apart from the trail centers.
Eastridge, descents are on the shorter side mostly but generally tick the steep and wooded. I think I worked out that doing everything would be 25 km minimum and 1800m ascent and that's ignoring all the stuff on the Stiperstones side.
Yep, while not off piste or in Wales, eastridge is bloody brilliant and well worth a few hours of enduro-ing.
It's near as dammit mid Wales and the good stuff whilst built is 'off piste'.
Tbh I wasn't sure what was on or off-piste, but it was all excellent.
Must head back soon.
Not mid wales but you would potentially pass on the way depending on the direction your heading from. Wrekin just off m54, very steep and technical and loads of trails. All off piste hand made stuff.
One of my favourite places to ride.
Also lake vyrnwy is supposed to have some really difficult, steep trails around. Never rode there myself so not sure how easy / hard they are to find.
I always think Hopton Woods 'trail centre' feels the least like a trail centre, what with having no facilites etc at the trail head!
Only barely mid wales but some awesome riding in Crychan and Irfon forests.
Some great suggestions!
