Shoe goo was a bit disappointing, though the prep and cleaning of the area is prob more critical than the actual glue.
I'll try some kind of hot glue and gun next time.

I've used Freesole with good results on 5:10s

Rubberised cynanoacrylate is very effective. Like bendy black superglue.
