i am looking into getting a full suspension(front and rear)
bike
like to ride but the constant jarring is messing with my back.
about 6'2" $500.
want something durable that has capability to carry cargo.
any suggestions?
You want the best full sus for $500?
And you want it to carry 'cargo?'
Where are you riding? I’d be getting a hardtail or rigid with plus tyres running low pressure if you want carrying options. £500 won’t get you much though.
Hi Frianag, for that budget and full suspension, the usual recommendation is to look at second hand bikes - the ads on this website and Pinkbike website could be a good place to start.
You will need to make some compromises to change to full suspension. You mentioned carrying cargo and durability and both of these things can be worse with full suspension as there are more moving parts and frame shapes. There are special racks available but they can cost quite a bit.
A 500 quid full sus (new) isn't going to benefit your back as you'd expect... You'd be better off on squishy plus rubber more likely
You are unlikely to get a FS bike worth having for that (assuming you are talking in US $).
What about a 2nd hand fat bike? The squishy tyres will help your back, and a lot of them have rack mounts.
Hi,
If you are in the Mansfield area there is bike group called the outlaws on face book. They have a buy and sell page.
You are unlikely to get a full suss at 500 but there are generally some decent hardtails for that price.
The outlaws a fun bunch to ride with if you take up mountain biking
Thanks for all this information.
